Teach Plus Philadelphia Affinity Group Network Participant Interest Form

Join a Community Where You Belong

The Philadelphia Affinity Group Network (PAGN) creates affirming, inclusive, and intersectional spaces to support educators who identify as people of color. Rooted in an asset-based approach to diversity, these groups offer support for navigating school-based challenges, building community, and advocating for meaningful change.

Led by dynamic teacher-leaders—educators in the School District of Philadelphia and Philadelphia-based charter schools—PAGN groups meet monthly and are part of a larger citywide network committed to collective impact and systemic transformation

Section 1: Introduction

What is the Philadelphia Affinity Group Network (PAGN)?

The Philadelphia Affinity Group Network, led by Teach Plus Pennsylvania, creates authentic, inclusive, and intersectional spaces that support educators of color in the School District of Philadelphia and Philadelphia-based charter schools.

These monthly affinity groups provide support for navigating school environments, fostering belonging, and staying in education.

PAGN’s teacher retention strategy is two-fold:

1. Create culturally affirming spaces to support educators of color

2. Offer leadership opportunities for teacher leaders who facilitate the groups

Note: PAGN is a citywide teacher retention initiative and currently designed for K–12 school-based teachers, including classroom educators, counselors, instructional coaches, and support staff.

At this time, we do not offer affinity groups for higher education professionals nor school-based administrators (i.e. principals and assistant principals).
